GTA 6 Doesn’t Compromise Scale For Detail, Rockstar Says

Rockstar’s games are known for their impressive attention to detail, along with their massive scopes, and GTA 6 is seemingly going to up the ante in that regard. Rockstar boss Aaron Garbut said in an interview that a developer might compromise scale for detail or detail for interaction « but not with this project. »

« We went the other way, » he told Game Informer. « Everything is dialed up–detail, scope, breadth, scale, interaction, and density. » He went on to say Rockstar has never « created anything close to this before. »

« As the pressure for us on this project is huge, we dealt with that by doing our best to overdeliver, » Garbut said.

No game can have everything, though, and GTA 6 is no different. The game takes place in Florida stand-in Leonida but doesn’t feature Walt Disney World, for example, but Rockstar says the game will deliver the « full Florida experience. »

GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game has reportedly already sold close to 6 million copies, generating more than $570 million in pre-sales.

Also this week, Rockstar revealed that GTA 6 will have more than 170 animal species, including cane toads and monkeys. We also learned that GTA 6 has a new dynamic weather system.
