12,000-year-old Göbeklitepe burials shed light on scattered human bones

Archaeologists identified the first two intact burials at Göbeklitepe, including a collective grave beneath a floor and a flexed burial of a young adult woman. The remains suggest many of the site’s scattered bones likely came from ordinary burials later disturbed by erosion and slope movement, rather than a single unusual burial rite. [archaeologymag.com]
